Having a good coach can be the difference between success and falling short, between personal achievement and disappointment. A coach can take the guess work out of training, be objective as to what you need, motivate you, make you accountable, set realistic goals and achievable targets, mentor and guide you to your best physical and mental shape to deliver your best performance.


Setting a training plan is just a small part of the picture, but working with a coach helps you understand why you are doing certain sessions and the purpose for each target and milestone along the way. The ability to discuss and reflect on training and racing can aid you arriving at the start line (and finish line) in the best possible shape.



There is no ‘one size fits all’ as there are as many coaching styles and training plans as there are races. Working closely together to understand how you operate by monitoring your training and performances I can create a plan that works specifically for you.


My approach to coaching is much more than simply setting training sessions for you to complete. I provide a comprehensive service including training plans, race planning, psychology, nutritional advice and motivation. Underpinning this is my background as an Elite Sports Physio, British Triathlon Coach, strength and conditioning coach, and Retül bike fitter (for the cyclists and triathletes amongst you). This coupled with my own experience as a multisport athlete returning to competition after serious trauma places me in a unique position to particularly help guide and coach athletes back to peak performance following injuries or layoffs. I have been racing for 20years from 1500m track to 50mile fell races, sprint triathlons through to Ironman, and everything in between.


I have coached athletes working towards their first 5k or their first marathon, through to elite runners and triathletes’ competing on the world stage. As a physio’ I work with Olympic and international runners and their coaches, sports scientists, strength and conditioning coaches, nutritionists, sports psychologists, etc. I have therefore experienced at close quarters the work required to perform at the highest levels. Previously I was the assistant coach for the North East Regional Academy and supported the development of numerous young athletes as they progressed through to GB squads and international competition.

Premium Coaching Package

£60 per month.


Highly detailed monthly training plans with weekly reviews and monitoring to adjust the plans as necessary. Feedback and communication is crucial to success so this option allows more flexibility based on training data, rates of improvement and lifestyle commitments.   Weekly review by email, phone or face to face as required. A Training Peaks premium account is used to record and analyse your training data.


Standard Coaching Package

£25 per 4 week block for a specific race / event.

Following a consultation about your goal event and key races, your training time and current performance, we will devise a detailed training plan for you to follow. This will be a periodised plan to include test sets, targets, and detailed descriptions of each training session. Progress will be reviewed monthly with the plan adjusted as required. The free basic package Training Peaks account is used to record your training data.



Payment is the 1st of every month by bank transfer.

3 month minimum commitment for Premium Coaching Package.

1 month notice period to end your coaching service.


Training plans are delivered direct to your personal TrainingPeaks account, arguable the best training software available, to enable you to easily upload your training data and allow detailed assessment of your training and racing.
