What if I miss a session?

Life gets in the way sometimes, it’s OK.

If you miss one session in the day, don’t worry.

If you miss a full day of training, don’t worry, just move on.

If you miss a few days, then return at around 60% for that first session back, then resume normal training the day after.

If you miss a full week, then ease back in gradually with 3 half volume days, 2 days at 60-70%, then a day at 75% volume, before returning to full training volume/intensity.

If you miss more than a week, make sure you’re speaking with your coach.

Never try and make up for a missed session, over the course of a season you’ll be doing more than enough that will make up for that missed one.

What if I’m short on time?

Something is (nearly) always better than nothing. Again, life happens - family / work, these things take priority. If you find you don’t have time for the full session then try and do some of it, trim the main session (don’t trim the warm up).

You can reduce the main set by doing less intervals or a slightly shorter interval (time or distance).
